Eyebrow Transplant

The first step is meeting the doctor who will examine you and determine the appropriate technique for your condition

Whether it is FUE or FUT you will have your head shaved in the donor area, you will go under local anaesthesia so you don’t experience any discomfort during the procedure.

If you wish, an oral sedative can be taken before the procedure to calm your nerves and make you more comfortable for the duration of the surgery.

Some lap tests will be done

Just like in a hair transplant, in an eyebrow transplant, the surgeon will move hair follicles from the donor site (usually the back of the head or above the ears) and then transplant them in the eyebrow where they are needed. This requires between 150 to 300 hairs in each eyebrow depending on the severity of the hair loss in it.

it is a really delicate procedure that needs a lot of preciseness and paying attention to the smallest details like controlling each hair direction and the look of its curve in order to have the most natural looking result 

Newly grafted hair applied to your new eyebrows is expected to continue growing once transplanted, as such they will need to be trimmed regularly.

It is done under local anesthesia, and it takes about 3 hours. The recovery is usually fast, the implanted hair will fall out after the surgery which is completely okay because then your new permanent eyebrow’s hair will start growing 

Don’t forget that the new hair is actually scalp hair so it’s programmed to grow faster and this will need continuous care and grooming.

The recovery period for an eyebrow transplant is relatively quick. You’ll notice some scabbing around the brows within the first few days. It’s important to not pick at these.

You may need to avoid vigorous exercise for up to 3 weeks following your surgery. Call your surgeon if you experience any bleeding, swelling, or pus at the site.

As the donor hair that is transplanted into the eyebrow is from the scalp, the hair growth will remain the same and it will grow to the full length of your head hair. Therefore, the transplanted eyebrow hair must be periodically trimmed (typically once a month). This is completely standard for eyebrow implants and after some time the transplanted hair can adjust and might no longer need trimming.

 the natural hair cycle continues and these hairs may shed and start the regrowth cycle after 10-12 weeks. Newly grafted hair is expected to continue growing once transplanted

After the surgery, you can start shaving normally again in only 2 weeks.

Tiny crusts may form around each newly implanted hair follicle, but these should flake off within a few days.

Eyebrow transplant is a very delicate procedure requiring advanced techniques and professional doctors. The most commonly used technique is the “FUE” technique (follicular unit extraction) in which the surgeon extracts the hair follicles each at a time and then transplant them in small canals that were made in the recipient site.  This one is more sophisticated so it takes longer to operate, more comfortable for the patient and leaves almost no scars.

Note that this technique is suitable only when the patient’s hair is straight or wavy.
